Learning Paths for Lesson Adventures

What is Deck.Toys in a nutshell? Read on for more on why we are all about ‘Learning Paths for Lesson Adventures’!

The name ‘Deck.Toys’ is derived from the idea that a lesson is made up of 50% serious learning (Deck) and 50% having fun (Toys) to maximize understanding of key concepts by making it a fully engaging experience for the student.

In the same manner, ‘Learning Paths’ is construed as the serious lesson delivery portion of your class, whilst ‘Lesson Adventures’ represents the fun and gamified part of our unique platform!

First and foremost, you are a teacher with a serious curriculum to impart to your students. From the young kindergarten students where you have to teach the basics of A-B-Cs and 1-2-3’s, all the way to high-schoolers with difficult subjects such as calculus, physics and biology. All you have to do is drag-and-drop your existing lesson materials into Deck.Toys into Slide & Video Activities and add interactive Slide Apps to make it highly engaging!

Now, the unique feature that takes this to a gamification format: the Learning Paths!

Think of yourself as a Lead Explorer who is bringing all your students on a Lesson Adventure. A Learning Path is a sequential path that your students will take in order to complete the lesson journey. These paths can be linear, divergent for an ‘easy’ path or a ‘hard’ path, and even converging into a final path. Students might not be even allowed to pass through the ‘hard’ path unless they unlock the path with a key! Read more here.

In setting the Learning Paths, the students may be thrown with obstacles along the way, like the Activity Entry Lock and many exciting puzzles! This adds to the fun lesson adventure that only Deck.Toys can artfully combine with your serious lesson delivery.

Remember 50% serious, 50% fun? It’s the same with Study Sets in Deck.Toys! You want the students to remember key terms and definitions for your class (like A is for Apple, B is for Ball), and with Study Set Games, it automagically gets converted to a plethora of Games with a click of a button!

Choose from the many Study Sets Games to gamify your lesson content!

The thrill in the gamification comes in unexpected rewards that the students will get, for example from opening up a new activity and discovering a Treasure Key, to receiving a challenge from another friend who is in the same Classroom! And of course, the gasps of horror when the Gauntlet App is exercised and half the points are snapped away!

It’s really easy to make these lesson adventures! Check out the Learning Paths and Activities Wizard to create a Lesson Adventure in minutes!

You can read more about the philosophy of deck-building here and the overall building blocks of a deck.

So there you have it… Deck.Toys is truly about Learning Paths for Lesson Adventures! Share the magic with your colleagues and students!
