Fun Science Lesson with Deck.Toys

JuneJune

My Science teacher says we are using Deck.Toys to revise our lesson on Human Body Systems today. Awesome! I have used Deck.Toys in other classes… it is always an adventure waiting to be explored

This is the deck she is using for the lesson: https://deck.toys/a/Xyy9aWTwY

At the very first Signpost, my teacher prompts me with a challenge… to complete all 3 paths before reaching the finish line!

Oh boy, oh boy! This is not a typical lesson, now is this? I’m pumped!

Alright so I have three paths to choose – Digestive, Respiratory and Circulatory. Which one should I start first? I click on ‘Digestive’ and a Lock appears….

Hmmm the answer must be ‘digestive’! Typed that in, and yahoo! The activity is unlocked!

Moving on then to the next activity down the path, I use Flashcards to revise terms and definitions related to the digestive system. Ok that was easy, so cleared that in a jiffy. But the next 3 activities were fun Study Set Games – a Memory Game, Choices and Lines – all repeating the concepts I had just learnt in, in a fun and engaging way! How cool is that?

Looks like I finished my path on the Digestive System, so I tried to cheat by going straight to the Finish line. Egad! It says that I cannot unlock this activity until I have completed the other two paths!

So I go back and dutifully complete the Respiratory and Circulatory System paths, enjoying myself thoroughly with the various mini-games including a Crossword puzzle and a Maze!

All this while, I have been collecting automatic game points too. So I click excitedly on the Student Gamepad to reveal the Student apps and multiple Power-Ups I can claim with my points!

Before I could explore the Power-Ups further, my teacher says, ‘Time’s up!’ so I have to wrap up the lesson with the final activity.

Yay I’m done! I feel accomplished after completing the 3 divergent paths on Human Body Systems! Can’t wait for my next Deck.Toys lesson to explore the Gamepad further!
