New Product Feature: Deck Background Video

You learnt how to make eye-catching deck backgrounds that would create excitement when your students first see the deck in Deck.Toys, but now you can take that to a new level by inserting a deck background video!

This new feature allows you to upload a video as your deck background instead of a static image. The video file requirements are:

– MP4 video file

– less than 10MB

– 612px (width) * 558px (height)

– preferably a looping video of less than 10 seconds

You will need to make this video with a third-party application. Once the video is added, the background editor will cease to work, so you are unable to edit the video further within Deck.Toys. You could consider using Powerpoint or even get short video clips from Pixabay (select the lowest resolution download option): https://pixabay.com/videos/

This early access feature is now available for Pro plan teachers only and you can only get the activation link by joining the Facebook Community page. 

In the same activation link, we share a Powerpoint template that you can use to create your own animations that can then be exported as a video.

Here are some great tips to get the video to loop well in Powerpoint:

Tip #1:: Start animation “With Previous” and Repeat animation “until end of slide”

Tip #2: The video length should be the lowest common multiple of each animation length in the video. For example, if there are two repetitive animations of 2s and 5s each, the video length should be 10 seconds.

Tip #3: Rewind/custom path items back to the original position. Alternatively, animate the item to be outside of the screen or behind another item.
